Legacy Maintenance Services x Stadion
Background: Legacy Maintenance Systems underwent significant ownership changes, from being acquired by DuPont years ago to returning to local ownership later. Operating through economic hardships, notably the 2008 recession, Legacy faced pressure to recover debts loaned to previous owners post the Dupont acquisition.
Impact of Stadion’s Ownership: Under Stadion, Legacy experienced a cultural transformation, adopting the EOS framework while preserving their brand identity. Strategic decisions, including talent acquisition and effective marketing partnerships, bolstered profitability.
Scioto Properties x Stadion
Background: Scioto acquires and leases its portfolio of 835 residential properties to care providers serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Additionally, Scioto offers property design and building oversight services, either renovating existing homes or constructing new properties to meet specific needs. Scioto is the largest national provider of real estate leasing in the DD industry.
Impact of Stadion’s Ownership: To facilitate growth, Scioto required debt and equity capital. Stadion identified debt and preferred equity investors to fund the company. Two years after our investment, Stadion introduced a large institutional investor to support Scioto’s explosive growth. In 2015, the company was recapitalized to provide the founders with liquidity and additional capital for growth. Stadion rolled over 100% of its equity and contributed additional capital in 2016 to support further expansion.
Heitmeyer Consulting x Stadion
Background: Heitmeyer Consulting, a business technology and operations consulting firm founded in 1999, was acquired by Stadion in 2018. At the time Stadion purchased Heitmeyer, Heitmeyer was owned and run by one person, making it difficult to grow the business. They sought the leadership and strategic direction that Stadion could provide to foster business growth.
Impact of Stadion’s Ownership: After Stadion purchased Heitmeyer, Stadion was able to grow the business significantly through our vast network, sales ability and tenacity. We also brought in a new president that provided structure and organization to the business. By prioritizing sustainable growth and strategic alignment, Stadion set Heitmeyer Consulting on a path for continued success in the competitive consulting industry.
Drivers History x Stadion
Background: Drivers History leads in acquiring, processing, and distributing traffic and criminal court data for insurance risk management. Headquartered in Cherry Hill, NJ, Drivers History allows customers to pre-screen potential clients without costly, outdated Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs). Their flagship product, DocIT, is a real-time database tracking drivers’ violation, enhancing insurance pricing, underwriting, fraud detection, and retention.
Impact of Stadion’s Ownership: Stadion identified DHIS as a platform with significant potential for organic growth through strategic data acquisition across various geographic markets. Leveraging our investor network, we facilitated substantial revenue growth for DHIS, increasing its top-line revenue. During our investment period, DHIS was recognized as one of Inc. 500’s fastest-growing software services companies and earned a spot on the Inc. 5000 list for three consecutive years.
TransUnion acquired a majority interest in Drivers History, a leading provider of traffic violations and criminal court data. This transaction enhanced TransUnion’s position as a trusted provider of data and analytic solutions to the insurance industry, while strengthening Drivers History’s market access through TransUnion’s carrier relationships and connectivity. In 2014, Stadion agreed to sell its ownership to Transunion to help the management team and DHIS achieve their goals.
